The Russian Business Mission to Thailand was organised by the Russian Export Centre, the Exim Bank of Russia and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

The accent was on the investment potential of Thailand as well as Siberia and the Russian Far East.

Round tables were held on transport and logistics, energy, IT and high technologies, medicine and biotechnologies.

Anna Belyaeva, director for international development at the Russian Export Centre said her organisation’s support last year for the Thai business sector was worth $41.8 million - about 1.3 billion baht.

This included financial support of about US$ 40 million for key industries such as steel and helicopters.

The rest was given to market research, seeking trade partnership and customers, and consulting services for the business sector.

The director signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Export and Import Bank of Thailand to pave the way for trade partnership between the two countries.
