The fox and the fisherman are both hunters but this particular creature in Novokuznetsk has found an easier way to get her dinner. 'We were fishing burbot but this was not the main event of the night,' said angler Vladimir. 'In the middle of the night we had a completely unexpected guest.

'After she ate all our live bait, she was offered a piece of bread. She picked it up, but did not eat it, instead took it away 30 metres, dug it into the sand, bread, and then decided to come back to make sure we really had nothing else left. I had never seen such a totally brazen fox.'

He explained to a local fishing forum: 'It was not far from the city. In summer this place was full of tourists, and I suppose she used to find there the remains of food. It's possible people fed her directly and she became so insolent.

'By the way - toughly the same thing happens with bears, but the consequences can be more tragic. When she came my first thought was that she would quickly disappear, so I frantically grabbed my camera. But my fears were unfounded. That night she visited us several times.'

He worries for the fate of this friendly fox. 'Unfortunately I think that she will not live long. Somebody will covet her luxurious fur coat, and given her trusting behaviour it is not difficult to kill her.'

Novokuznetsk, once called Stalinsk, after Josef Stalin, is a city of 547,000 on the Tom River in Kemerovo region.

Hey that is good when a wild animal comes up and close like that...if that 'fisherman' ends up lost...that fox will get him back to the waters...I think animals are beautiful...unlike people who are very very ugly...
