56 injured as passengers panicked and pushed each other during emergency evacuation

The Azur Air plane had to make second landing attempt after a loud bang was heard and a wheel ignited during the failed first try. 

The plane was packed full with Russian holiday-makers coming home from Vietnamese Cam Rahn. 

It landed at 21.21 local time with nervous passengers reporting fire and strong smell of resin in the rare part of the plane. Panic erupted as flight attended called for urgent evacuation, calling for passengers to run as far as possible away from the plane in case it exploded.

‘There were no injuries during the actual landing, but there were during the evacuation. There was panic, people crowded up, there were bruises and even broken legs. It was really harsh’, said tourist Marina Shevchenko. 

The evacuation took five minutes.
