Now two NEW large holes appear in Siberia

The funnel is a perfectly formed cone, say locals who are mystified at how it was formed. Its depth is estimated at between 60 and 100 metres and its diameter - more than four metres. Picture: Local residents

Millions of people around the world glimpsed the first giant hole after it was revealed by The Siberian Times here and on The Siberian Times TV here.

Now news has emerged of two new similar formations in the permafrost, prompting more intrigue about their creation.

Theories range from meteorites, stray missiles, a man-made prank, and aliens, to an explosive cocktail of methane or shale gas suddenly exploding. The version about melting permafrost due to climate change, causing a release of methane gas, which then forces an eruption is the current favorite, though scientists are reluctant to offer a firm conclusion without more study.

The second is in the Yamal Peninsula - known to locals as 'the end of the world' - like the first. It is some hundreds kilometres from the first, which is close to a huge gas extraction plant at Bovanenkovo. This new crater in the Taz district, near the village of Antipayuta, has a diameter of about 15 metres.

A deputy of the regional parliament - or duma - Mikhail Lapsui has examined this latest phenomenon.

'I flew by helicopter to inspect this funnel on Saturday 19 July,' he said. 'Its diameter is about 15 meters. 'There is also ground outside, as if it was thrown as a result of an underground explosion.

'According to local residents, the hole formed on 27 September 2013. Observers give several versions. According to the first, initially at the place was smoking, and then there was a bright flash. In the second version, a celestial body fell there.'

The Chief Scientist of the Earth Cryosphere Institute, Marina Leibman, told URA.RU website: 'I have heard about the second funnel on Yamal, in Taz district, and saw the pictures.

'Undoubtedly, we need to study all such formations. It is necessary to be able to predict their occurrence. Each new funnel provides additional information for scientists.'

The third crater and hole is in the Taymyr Peninsula, to the east of Yamal, in Kransoyark region. It was accidentally discovered by local herders, inhabitants of the northern village of Nosok.

The funnel is a perfectly formed cone, say locals who are mystified at how it was formed. Its depth is estimated at between 60 and 100 metres and its diameter - more than four metres.

The herders almost fell into the hole which lies on a pasturing route. They took pictures of the hole which were sent to scientists at the Norilsk Taimyr Explorers' Club.

Experts - geologists, ecologists, and historians - have not come to a consensus about the origin of the funnel, say reports in the region.

'It is not like this is the work of men, but also doesn't look like natural formation,' said one account.

Further study is planned of this hole.

The first hole is around 70 metres deep with an icy lake at its bottom.

The entire region should become a tourist center for those robust people who turn 70 years old. The Global Positioning Systems (GPS) setting for the 70/70 is just up the Yamal Peninsula south east of Bovanenkovo gas fields. At the 70/70 a tourist-convention center should be developed with World Bank underwriting so one-tenth of one percent of the world's 70 year olds (total population estimated to be between 80 to 100 million people), or approximately 80,000 people per year could begin to travel to the area for at least one week. Accommodating over 1,000 guests per week could employ many people. http://smallbusinessschool.org/page2949.html

The rotation of our planet is slowing by about 1 second every 1 &1/2 years called Leap Seconds. The tectonic plates are adjusting to the changed momentum causing major earthquakes where several plates meet such as off the coast of Chile where three of them converge. These earthquakes release massive amounts of methane gas into the atmosphere causing global warming (Methane is more than 20 times more effective in causing global warming than carbon dioxide, causing unusual climate conditions recently.) The permafrost in Siberia is melting causing the release of large pockets of methane created under ideal conditions during the global flood as explained in our historical records. The combination of science & history gives us many answers!

Looking at the earth leading from the inside, to the raised edges. These particular holes, were cast over time. For even a drill with enough stamina, and/or strength would have taken an immense amount of time. These holes look to be created by heat. As the only natural element with a pattern of high waving peaks, which under looks like small pressure created fissures in the earth. This is what makes most sense to me. Also if water were pressurized by heat , this could also be the case.

Something is different about that hole, anwy basing on rational evidence in 1980s one of the great scientist had proved that it is the gate of hell and after all if i happen to be in his place during that time then i do will accept that. We never believe others unless we see it with our own naked eye and this is common error in men

Olá, é simplesmente experiência via satélite de alguma força militar do planeta terra, porém baseados em teste sônico ou laser por satélite...

I looks like a bubble of gas pushing through earth at a low pressure strong enough to expulse the top layers around the edges then the main body of the hole, cylindrical, square like and the like, sliding down following the original path where the gas came through.... that make sense to me.

Well - There are a lot of ideas - Methane release seems to be the most popular. But I do not see the ejecta that would account for the size and depth of the hole. Has anyone in the area heard a blast? To blow out this size of crater using methane would cause a blast that should be heard a good fifty to a hundred miles away. Here is another idea to add to the list. The Siberian traps of 250 million years ago, during the permian and triassic era, could be rising up again and heating from below. Maybe we are seing an awakening of the traps. It may take hundreds of years or it may awaken tomorrow. Last time it happened in the permian there was also a mass dieing. Could it happen again? The craters look strange. The walls are shear walls and the ejecta is confined to the surface periphery of the crater. An explosion would have launched the ejecta far from the crater. Where is that? It looks to me like a bubble of gas forced its way to the surface and deposited along the crate wall. Of course I'm not there to make a supportable explanation but it does not look like anything I have ever seen before.

To the crazy lady who believes that scientist found the gates to hell in the 80's,if the last time you heard of this was in the 80's it is because somewhere down the line someone did not mention two you that its a hoax....spend more time on google hun...it will help

It makes me think of a giant laser like beam that melts or bores through rock and anything like the ones used for the tunnels connecting Deep Underground Millitary Bases (DUMB). Sorry if someone already said this I have not time to read everyone's comment. Seek the true LORD while he may be found. B ready!

I think that this hole occurence was most likely caused by karst topography, AKA, sinkholes formed by the erosion of limestone in acidic water.

Stupid religious people making even more stupid comments not based on science. There water at the bottom of the hole, not hell! Hell is all of you making assumptions and pushing your beliefs unto somebody else! You are the HELL brought to Earth to Torment the rest of us! Think for yourselves before opening your mouths! Cann't look at the hole is see that is not natural, the that there's dirty accumulation around the edges! It it like it was dug up, or pushed from its center, but NO, there's no evidence to say HELL pushed its way out from the center of the earth to cause any torment to men. Stupid!
