Another route, which begins this week, links Novosibirsk and Chita.

'The opening of flights from Novosibirsk to other Siberian cities expands the route network of Novosibirsk International Airport (Tolmachevo),' said an airport spokesman.

'It also gives passengers the opportunity to use Novosibirsk airport as a transfer point when flying to the cities in Russia, CIS and abroad, and strengthens its position as a major hub in Siberia'.

Angara Airlines is based in Irkutsk. The flights will be operated by the 'new generation' An-148-100E aircraft.

The airlines operates a fleet of entirely Russian aircraft.
