'I was unemployed for some time. One day a friend who lives in Russia told me that Sibir was looking for a manager. I let them know I was prepared to take the job', Scottish manager told Siberian Times.
Alex Miller, 62, who has recently taken over Sibir FC, is pleased with new team and enjoys local Irish pubs.
'Then I came to Novosibirsk, met the Mayor, had a look at the arena and training ground which were impressive. Some of the English Premier Clubs may only dream about such football facilities. I got back home briefly, and soon was off to Turkey to sign the contract and meet with the players.
Miller denies some Russian media reports that the bosses of the club demanded that his aim should be the team's promotion to the Russian premiership. 'We did not discuss this subject. The team should show some progress from one game to another. But believe me, I am full of ambitions.
Miller refused to reveal the personal terms of the deal but admitted that he is likely to be living in Russia on his own.'I have some property in Britain and a house in Spain, where me and my wife spend most of the time. My wife is likely to continue living there'.
Miller's two adult sons both live in Scotland.
